The Best Homemade Bread for 2021

April 13, 2021

I wasn’t usually a bake-bread-from-home Mom, unless it was the Fall and I was feeling especially homemaker’y, but baking it weekly came out of necessity when the craziness happened with the grocery stores in 2020. While I love my Grandma’s recipe it is a little dense, and I wanted a lighter sandwich bread for everyday use. I found this recipe thanks to Jess at Roots & Refuge Farm, and it is a recipe from the City Sower’s YouTube channel. I no longer buy bread at the grocery store because this is just SO easy (especially if you have a mixer with a bread hook), absolutely delicious, and super cheap!

For this recipe you will need:
6 1/2 to 7 1/2 cups of all-purpose white flour
1/4 cup sugar or honey
1/4 cup neutral-flavored oil (canola or grapeseed)
2 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tbsp dry activated yeast
2 3/4 cups very warm water

Here’s the video from City Sower’s with a step by step of how to make this amazing bread for yourself:
